“Setting up the national laboratory policy »

“We have just had the inaugural lecture from the President of the Cameroon Society of Clinical Biology and the Directorate of Pharmacy, Medicines and Laboratories. We believe that we should start by setting up a national laboratory policy. Let everyone be involved and know what this policy is. That they are truly involved. This would make it easier for each element of the health pyramid to know who does what. The urgent thing is to set up a laboratory directorate so that biologists can be better involved in the decisions that concern them. You know, we are in a developing country. And unfortunately, we don’t often have access to these new technologies. These technologies are getting closer and closer to us and are robust enough to be used here. We still lack training for these technologies. For example, we talked about the innovation in bacteriology with the disoft image technique and the bitake device, which will allow biologists to give results in 24 hours and not 72 hours, as was the case before. We will have a session dedicated to molecular biology, biochemistry, which is transversal to all biological sciences. This will enable us to intensify our understanding of the genes involved in certain pathologies, so that we can be sure of being able to adapt the treatment for patients. »
