Tibu health uses the latest
health and logistics technology to provide patients with an accessible
and coordinated healthcare
pathway. This is to enable better outcomes, healthier lives and more time for the things that matter to them. Tibu health allows users to use home health workers from the web platform and mobile app. The Nairobi-based healthtech was founded in 2018 by Jason Carmichael and Peter Gicharu. The aim is to make it easier for people to access
health services at affordable rates. Available and accessible on iOS and Android, users must create an account to access the startup’s services. You will need to choose a time and enter your location and an agent will come to your location to help you.
Whether you need a medical consultation, samples for lab tests or vaccinations, all you have to do is fill in the details via the mobile app or the platform and the agent will be equipped to carry out his task. In the case of laboratory tests, the digitised reports are sent to the patient or doctor, and if interpretations are required, Tibu Health helps with this. More than 250 different
types of laboratory tests are performed at the healthtech facility. It claims to save more than 5 hours on average, time that the patient would have had to spend in hospital or laboratory queues. In addition, Tibu Health has reportedly seen over 40,000 patients with a 95% satisfaction rate.
Medical imaging
In March 2023, the company successfully completed a round of financing for an undisclosed amount to accelerate its growth in the local market. It also wants to improve its technology and strengthen the fight against chronic diseases. “We are particularly
excited to expand our chronic disease programme and address the alarming increase in the incidence of chronic disease in Africa,” said Jason Carmichael. In addition, TIBU has already provided
over 10,000 people with access to home-based counselling
in Kenya since its launch in early 2020. The start-up hopes to develop a home-based medical imaging service and also its own laboratory thanks to the new investments
it has received.
