The ambition displayed by the ODAS movement (the Organization for Dialogue for Safe Abortion) must embrace socio-cultural values and the texts in force. The exchange on the subject was at the heart of the audience granted by the Minister of Public Health, on January 11, 2024, to a delegation from this association led by its Director, Ms. KADIDIATOU SOW.

Contribute to setting up actions aimed at supporting safe abortion in French-speaking Africa. To do this, one of the axes of this project is to facilitate collaboration, sharing and learning through sustainable partnerships and access to resources. An ambition which, for the Minister of Public Health, must be remodeled according to the laws and context of our country, Cameroon.

During the exchange, Dr MANAOUDA Malachie made a point of emphasizing that Cameroon is more focused on denouncing this type of practice. We advocate, he stressed, accountability and continue to raise awareness among our populations on the issue for many years.

For Minsante, attention should be more focused on building staff capacity on education and dissemination of information about reproductive health. It would be just as beneficial to address this concern from the angle of family planning which, for Dr MANAOUDA Malachie, remains one of the best solutions for family protection.
