Distinction : A diaspora prize awarded to the Minister of Public Health
This distinction which rewards the leadership and enormous contribution of Dr MANAOUDA Malachie to the establishment of a viable health system was presented to him, on the afternoon of January 10, 2024, during an audience granted to a delegation of the Cameroon Model Diaspora organization.
Led by its Vice-President Mr. Serges Firmin TCHUIMEGUEU, the delegation called “Diaspora model Cameroon” received in audience by Dr. MANAOUDA Malachie first took the opportunity to present its action plan, not without mentioning its missions . It appears that the Cameroon Model Diaspora organization encourages Cameroonians abroad to invest in their country of origin, Cameroon. Which justifies the slogan chosen by this movement, namely: model diaspora, model citizen. The contribution of the diaspora in the health sector constituted the bulk of the exchanges between the health boss and his hosts.
This association encourages and supports Cameroonians who wish and can to participate in the consolidation of our health system, through the creation of infrastructures of various types for some. For others, it is about encouraging their commitment to bringing their know-how to the medical field.
Through its Vice-President, “Cameroon Model Diaspora”, during this meeting, expressed its admiration for the enormous work accomplished so far by Dr. MANAOUDA Malachie. To this end, a diaspora award was given to the Minister of Public Health to say thank you.
In turn, Minister MANAOUDA said he was honored and moved to receive this distinction which motivates him to do better. The member of the Government also expressed his appreciation of the name Diaspora Model Cameroon as well as his determination to support the Health sector. For him, this approach is part of the will of the President of the Republic His Excellency Paul BIYA, who wants the Cameroon diaspora to show itself as an example as a model diaspora. Furthermore, he congratulated the management team for its involvement in promoting Cameroon internationally.
In addition, the Minister of Public Health indicated that Cameroon’s ambition is to build a solid and robust health system. Hence, the facilities granted to potential investments from Cameroonians living abroad. It is then that he will reassure his counterparts by reiterating that everything is done to support members of the diaspora engaged in this path.
