Dr Serge LONFO, Head of the Messamena health district
“We have been designated “best health district” by the regional delegate »
“From the top of the health pyramid, the Minister of Public Health, Dr Manaouda Malachie, has asked that we humanise care. Humanising care also means realising that health actors are human.
The Regional Delegate for Public Health in the East, Dr José Andjembe Essola, during the last coordination meeting, was keen to celebrate excellence. In the same vein, the Messamena Health District also wanted to celebrate excellence. We were designated “best health district” by the regional delegate, and it was equally important for us to celebrate those who worked to achieve this rank. It was equally important for us to celebrate those who worked to get us there. That is why, following the lead of the Regional Delegate, we wanted to celebrate the best on almost the same criteria. These are completeness and above all promptness. In practical terms, it is a question of the staff sending
the data on time and in their entirety. Beyond that, there is the quality of the data returned. The ranking that was drawn up made it possible to select the 5 best who were awarded prizes. As you know, health is not only about technicians. We also awarded prizes to the communities, including
COSADI, the best health committee chairman (the district has 10) and the best communication
focal point. In the future, we intend to mobilise many more actors so that no one feels left out or marginalised. This celebration
was an opportunity to show health workers how important they are. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Regional
Delegate for Public Health in the East, Dr José Andjembe Essola, for his constant support in the framework of technical support. We would also like to thank the administrator of the regional fund for the promotion of health in the East, Dr Floribet Mabouli, for his financial support and advice in the organisation of this event, which is now intended to be permanent. For future editions,
we are calling on many more partners to support these health actors who work daily to bring health to the population ».
