The Djarengol Kodek health centre in Maroua offers a full range of services to the poor, including maternal care, vaccinations, treatment for common illnesses and other essential services.

Since its creation, UEEC has been committed to providing quality healthcare to the isolated and vulnerable population. With its national headquarters in Maroua, UEEC has 8 health centres in the North and Far North regions. These centres offer a full range of services, including maternity care, vaccinations, treatment for common illnesses and other essential services. Despite the closure of the Toufou health centre in the Mayo-Tsanaga department due to Boko Haram attacks, the UEEC continues to fight to improve access to healthcare for all through its health department.

The Djarengol Kodek health centre in Maroua is one of the jewels in the UEEC’s medical crown. With around fifty dedicated staff, the centre provides quality care and has been the source of many success stories. “The Djarengol Kodek health centre really does offer quality care,” says Amadou, a patient at the centre.

Universal health coverage is one of the major challenges facing the medical work of the Union of Evangelical Churches in Cameroon.  Satou Moussa, coordinator of the medical work, says: “We are also involved in universal health coverage. All the packages and directives issued by the Ministry of Public Health as part of universal health coverage are respected in our health facilities.

The UEEC is committed to helping achieve this goal by working closely with the government and developing innovative initiatives to ensure access to healthcare for all. The Union of Evangelical Churches in Cameroon has therefore decided to support the State of Cameroon by offering quality public health services. “The Ministry of Public Health does not discriminate between public and private health facilities. Our colleagues receive training in the health districts. “To this end, we hope that the Ministry of Public Health will also support us materially and financially to meet the health needs of the population”, said the coordinator of the medical work of the Union of Evangelical Churches in Cameroon. UEEC continues to play an essential role in improving the health of the population, and its long-term commitment to guaranteeing access to healthcare for all is an inspiring example for other healthcare players in Cameroon.
