The disappearance of the body of Honorine Ngono Ayina, widow of Eyebe, from the morgue of the Yaounde Central Hospital has caused great consternation and an investigation has been opened to find the body. The director of the Yaounde Central Hospital, Professor Pierre Joseph Fouda, said that “all the hospital staff are determined to find the missing body and to cooperate with the authorities to clarify the circumstances of this disappearance.”
According to Professor Fouda, “we have set up a cooperation mechanism with the gendarmerie, police and justice services to conduct the investigation and find the body of Mrs. Ngono Ayina.” The gendarmerie, police and justice teams, with the support of the Minister of Health, are currently watching the video surveillance on a loop to see if anything has escaped their vigilance. “We want to know if, in one way or another, at a given time, someone came back to take the body,” explained the hospital director.
The staff of the Yaoundé Central Hospital will be interviewed, without exception, to help investigators find the body. “We are determined to cooperate with the authorities to find the body of Mrs. Ngono Ayina and to bring justice to her family,” said Professor Fouda. The family of the deceased has been invited to join the Yaoundé Central Hospital in conducting the search. “We are counting on the collaboration of the family and all people of good will to find the body of Mrs. Ngono Ayina,” said the hospital director. Anyone who may have information on the case should not hesitate to share it and collaborate with the authorities.
The investigation began after the family of Honorine Ngono Ayina, who died a few months earlier, went to the morgue of the Yaoundé Central Hospital to retrieve her body, only to discover that the body had disappeared. “This is an unacceptable situation and we will do everything to find the body and bring justice to the family,” said Professor Fouda. The director of the Yaoundé Central Hospital also stressed that “this is the first time we have encountered such a situation in 13 years.” He assured that “we will do everything to find the body and for the family to see it.” The disappearance of Honorine Ngono Ayina’s body has sparked great emotion and consternation in the community. The Yaoundé Central Hospital, the gendarmerie, the police and the justice system are determined to find the body and bring justice to the family. “We will work together to find the body and to clarify the circumstances of this disappearance,” said Professor Fouda.
